Fiona Vella

Fiona is Managing Partner of Vella Talent and has been recruiting in the legal industry for eight years. She is passionate about connecting with attorneys to understand their stories and career aspirations — all of which allows her to find the ideal match for both them and her law firm and in-house legal department clients.

After achieving her Bachelor’s degree in History from Yale University in 2014, Fiona got her start in the industry in Washington, D.C. as a litigation paralegal at Paul, Weiss. While there she gained a true appreciation for the high-stakes, high-dollar intensity of biglaw — especially after billing over 110 hours in one week while preparing for a trial in the Southern District of New York.

Born in Dublin, Ireland but raised primarily in Maine, Fiona is delighted to be able to conduct searches across the country from her home base in the Portland area.

When not working you will find her enjoying quality time with family and friends, singing with the Una Voce Chamber Choir, trying yet another Mary Berry recipe, or exploring the beaches (even in the depths of winter!) with her dogs.
